Welcome Newsletter
Hello! My name is Martha Sosa and I am excited to begin this 2023-2024 school year. In this welcome newsletter you will find important information regarding our class policies, how to contact me, recommended school supplies, and our daily schedule.
Our Classroom Promise
This classroom promise was created to enforce a positive and equitable classroom environment. All students promise to follow and accept these statements.
Routines & Procedures
These routines and procedures will be implemented daily in order to construct an organized and well-behaved classroom.
Rewards & Consequences
Both rewards and consequences will be used consistently, proportionally, and in a manner that promotes learning and growth in our classroom.
Classroom Layout
The physical layout in this classroom provides a positive behavior climate. Students are seated in teams for them to collaborate and help each other. At the back of the classroom, you are able to see three different areas. The first area is the centers or working section where students are able to sit down at the small tables and work on any assignment. A special storage section is behind this area for students to grab any material they might need. Next we have the reading area where different reading books are provided and students are able to remain there at the flexible seats. Finally, we have the calming corner where students are allowed to take a break whenever they feel like it’s needed and later return to their tables. It is important for me, as the teacher, to have my area at the front of the classroom to control the whole environment. Lastly, the computer section is also close to my area in order to properly manage the electronic devices and a student wall was also placed to demonstrate the amazing work the students are completing!
